Privacy Policy

LexiLevel ("the app") is developed by Zynex Creatives ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information LexiLevel handles and how.

Summary

LexiLevel is local-first: your vocabulary, progress, and settings are stored on your own device, and no account is required to use the app. If you choose to sign in with Google Play Games, we use that sign-in only to back up and restore your progress across your devices — that backup is stored in your own Google Play Games account, not on servers we operate. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Information stored on your device

LexiLevel stores the following locally, in a private app database and local app preferences:

• Words and translations you save, along with your notes, categories, and collections
• Your review/quiz history and answers, used to schedule spaced-repetition reviews and track word mastery
• Your XP, level, streak, and achievement progress
• Your app settings: native language, English level, daily goal, interests, selected avatar, and light/dark theme preference

None of the above leaves your device unless you opt in to cloud backup, described below. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data through your device settings, permanently deletes it.

Optional sign-in and cloud backup

LexiLevel lets you optionally sign in with Google Play Games from Settings. If you do:

• We access basic Play Games profile info (your display name, player ID, and profile image) through Google Play Games Services, to show you're signed in.
• If you choose to back up your progress, your local data described above is uploaded to your own Google Play Games cloud save, so you can restore it on another device signed into the same Google account.
• This data is held in your Google account under Google's own infrastructure and privacy practices, not on a server we operate. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles it.

Signing in and backing up are both optional — if you don't use them, no data leaves your device.

Permissions

• Microphone: used only when you actively tap the microphone in a speaking practice exercise, to let you practice pronouncing words aloud. Audio is processed via your device's own speech recognition service to check your answer; LexiLevel does not record, store, or transmit audio.
• Internet: used to communicate with Google Play Games Services when you sign in or back up/restore progress. LexiLevel does not otherwise send your personal data over the internet.

Third-party services

The only third-party service LexiLevel integrates with is Google Play Games Services, used solely for the optional sign-in and cloud backup described above. LexiLevel does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

Children's privacy

LexiLevel does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app can be used entirely offline without any account. The optional Google Play Games sign-in is provided by Google and subject to Google's own age requirements and Play Games Services terms.

Data deletion

You can delete your local data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage/data from your device's app settings. To remove a cloud backup, delete the saved game data associated with LexiLevel from your Google Account's app & services settings, or contact us for help.

Changes to this policy

If LexiLevel's data practices change, this policy will be updated first, with a new "Last updated" date, and the update will clearly describe what changed and why.
